Have you ever had a friend who could sustain you in such a way that your life would be completely devoid and empty without that person in it? One that you don’t necessarily have to talk to every single day? Even though you really wish you could. A friend who’s been with you through thick and thin, the good times and the bad? A friend who’ s helped you celebrate so many of your life’s milestones, accomplishments and joys? And yet, been right there in the trenches with you through all the stinking rotten times, too. All the while, extending his/her hand, telling you, (even if they didn’t truly believe it themselves,) that everything was gonna be ok? A friend that knows all your deepest, darkest secrets and has seen you at your absolute worst, and yet, loves you anyway?
If you have, then consider yourself truly blessed in this life. I’ve been fortunate enough to have a few people in my life that I consider life friends. These are the people who you may go days, weeks, months, or even years without seeing or even speaking to! But, you know in your heart, that one e-mail, phone call or visit is all it’d take to pick up right where you left off.
These people are the ones that are there for you when everyone else in the entire world seems to have disappeared. They’re cheering you on from the sidelines and making you feel like you can conquer the world! (Or that mountain of dishes!) They give willingly and graciously of themselves, never asking for anything in return.
To put it simply, a life friend is just that. A friend for life. And very few things can severe those ties that bind. Like I said before, there may be long pauses in your relationships with these people, but they’re always there when you need them to be. They love you even when your own family doesn’t!
For each and every one of my Life Friends, I am eternally grateful and abundantly blessed to have you in my life. I can honestly say that I truly don’t know what I would’ve done without y’all!
I love all of you so very much! 🙂
Now, a little side note here. I know I live on the “top of the world”, as one of these life friends likes to point out, but y’all can always come for a little visit. It does get a little lonely up here at the top from time to time! Tee hee hee…. I couldn’t resist!
